THE EXPERIENCE
I do things a little differently… There’s no cookie-cutter approach here. This is more than a photo shoot— it’s a chance to be looked after for a while... Yes, I’ll show you how to pose and guide you through the shoot, but there’s also lots of good conversation and laughter. Before long you’ll forget you’re being photographed, and end up just being completely you.
And that’s when I’ll press the shutter.
MORE THAN PHOTOS
HERE’S WHAT
YOU CAN EXPECT
FULLY GUIDED SESSION
You don’t need to know what to do or how to act in front of the camera. That’s my job. I’ve been doing this for decades, now, and I know all sorts of ways to help you move past any awkwardness you might feel. I will guide you every step of the way.
GENUINE CONNECTION
Before we take a single photo, I want to get to know you. Your story, your energy, your vision. What makes you tick. We’ll spend lots of time before you shoot talking about the sorts of images that take your breath away, and we’ll work together to bring that vision to life.
HELPFUL RESOURCES
I have loads of information to send you before you session that will help you prepare everything from what to wear and what to bring through to what to do with those ‘night before jitters’.
“JEN IS REALLY GOOD AT MAKING YOU FEEL RELAXED & MAKING THE SHOOT ALL ABOUT YOU. AND THE PHOTOS ARE GREAT!.”
The Process Goes Like This
NO.01ENQUIRE
Drop me a note through my contact form and tell me a little about what you’re looking for in a shoot. I’ll be in touch as soon as I can to chat details and see if we’re a perfect fit.
NO.02PLANNING
Once you decide to go ahead, we’ll set a date and time for your shoot. Then the fun part begins: planning your dream session! No two shoots are the same, and we’ll talk about your vision for the images you’d like to create together.
NO.03IMAGE SELECTION
A week or so after your shoot you’ll be invited back to the studio to see you images. This is when we can design albums, wall art and folios collections of images. You will be able to touch and feel samples of all my custom products.
NO.04DELIVERY
Delivery can take anything from a week up to 4 - 5 weeks from when your order is finalised, depending on the physical products you select. All images that you order come as both print and digital files.

ASKED QUESTIONS
Don’t see your question? Get in touch and we’ll give you all the details you need.

First and foremost, don't let deciding what to wear stop you from booking a shoot. Wardrobe choices are easy once you know what to look for, and you probably have more than enough already in your wardrobe to create great images. You will get loads of info on what looks good on camera (and what doesn't) prior to your shoot, and we'll chat about it by phone and/or video link too.
Sometimes I actually go to my clients' homes a few weeks prior to their shoot and help them put together a few great outfits to take the stress out of things on the day of your shoot.
And, if you really need help, I have several personal stylists I can recommend. They can be especially helpful if you're doing a personal branding shoot.
-
You will be required to pay a booking fee to secure the date and time of your shoot. Drop me a note via the contact page on this website to get the ball rolling.
-
It’s not uncommon for me to book a few months out. If you have a specific date in mind for your shoot, please contact me well ahead of time. Booking ahead also allows you plenty of time in the planning phase of your shoot, and to be honest, the work done before we go anywhere near a studio is probably the most important of all.
Lots of dreaming and planning helps give you images that you will cherish forever, and (if they're for your business) will serve you well.
-
Every image you purchase comes as both print and digital file, so you get both! The only exception to this is if you come in for a personal branding suite where we're creating loads of "fodder" for your social media sites and website. Those packages are digital only (because, do you really need a print of that shot of your hands holding your favourite books? 😏).
Of course, I'm flexible here. If you're absolutely adamant that you don't want any prints, let's talk.

Anywhere between 30 and 36 weeks is a good window to aim for. If this is your first pregnancy, aim for later in that time frame.
For second pregnancies, aim for closer to the 30-34 week mark.
If you are carrying multiples, book even earlier, around 28 weeks. You are likely to show earlier, and there is a higher chance that you will deliver a little early.
As far as actually making the booking, you should contact me (or any other photographer for that matter!) probably before you’re 20 weeks so that you can have your choice of dates.

Any time from 4-5 months through to about 1 year of age is great for motherhood photos. Babies in this age range have usually had time to “grow into themselves” a little, and are deliciously chubby and cute. And you will have had some time to grow into motherhood, too. This makes for a much more relaxed session, where we can get you looking and feeling gorgeous with hair, makeup and wardrobe styling, and with a little bit of behind-camera effort, we can usually get babies looking right down the barrel of the lens.
-
Yes, that’s usually fine. Tell me what you have in mind so we can plan appropriately.
-
I do! Returning clients receive an additional $200 print and product credit when they book in for another full priced shoot, and if you're a LUXE client, you receive a complimentary shoot and $660 in gift certificates every year for you to share with family and friends.
Yep. Every. Single. Year.
-
Yes. I offer payment plans at no additional cost to you. I’m happy to discuss this with you before you book your shoot.
-
Yes, and yes.
-
If you need three photos each of all gazillion gadgets and gizmos that your company produces by the truck load, then I’m not the photographer for you.
If, however, you’re say a knitting pattern designer, or a ceramicist, or jeweller, and you’d like editorial style photos of you and/or your products, well yes indeed! I’d be delighted to work with you.
-
Yes, we can! If you need to see your images on the same day, we will need to shoot in the morning. After your session, I will send you off somewhere close by for lunch so that I can have an hour or so to quickly prepare your files for you to see.
OR we can do a viewing via zoom a week or so after your shoot.
-
Yes, of course!
It’s better to come to the studio to see your images if you can, but we can do a Zoom viewing session if you need to.
All our planning sessions prior to your shoot can be done in person, by phone, or via Zoom.
I’M JEN
I BLOOD LOVE WHAT I DO
& YOU’LL LOVE IT TOO!
I’m a barefoot and blue jeans kind of girl, and probably one of the most WYSIWYG people around. No pretention here!
People often tell me what they love most about their shoots is that photos we create together are some of the best they’ve ever seen of themselves.
What I think is even better is that those same people arrive with a handshake, and leave with a big squeezy hug, and say that the shoot was way more fun than they ever expected it would be.
I’d love to give you that experience, too.
