JENNIFER
THE WOMAN BEHIND VIVIDITY
I'M JEN
I bloody LOVE WHAT I DO
…AND YOU WILL TOO.
I know that right now, you're thinking you could never spend a few hours... a few hours!... in a photo studio, let alone enjoy the experience. That this is something for other women, not you. That these other women are somehow more beautiful, more photogenic, more confident, more... worthy perhaps, than you.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I've been a photographer for about 30 years now, and it's a job that has taught me to see. I've learned that the way we see ourselves is rarely as kind or as generous as the way are seen by those who love us.
I can see the incredible beauty in you, even when you can't see it yourself. All those things about you that you wish were somehow 'better' are the best things about you: the way your eyebrows are not quite even, or the teeth that are not quite straight, the smile that's a little wonky, and the laugh that's a little too loud, the wrinkles, the stretch marks, the cellulite... those are the things we love and celebrate here at vividity: the perfect imperfections that make you who you are.
Come spend a day with me and my team. Let us give you the experience of a luxury photo shoot. Let us show you what it's like to be the pampered, posed and photographed like you're on set for Vanity Fair or Vogue. Together we will take some of the best photos you have ever seen of yourself.
And you'll love it. I promise.

I IMAGINE…
A WORLD FULL OF
CONFIDENT WOMEN
I’M ON A MISSION TO BUILD A WORLD FULL OF CONFIDENT WOMEN.
I imagine a world where women who can see through the lies that are pushed on us about what makes a perfect life, a perfect woman.
But you know what's harder to see through? The lies we tell ourselves: That we would be happy if we were just thinner/more tanned/younger/fitter/better dressed/more muscular/earned more/weighed less... The list goes on forever.
None of those things is true, though. You know that, right?
What is true is that you are perfectly fine just the way you are, and that you deserve to know that from the deepest cells within your body. Here at vividity we're not about telling lies. We're not magicians or fairy godmothers, and we can't turn pumpkins into exquisite horse-drawn carriages. But we can show you how incredibly beautiful, powerful, fierce, accomplished, and how worthy you already are.
And once you know that from the deepest cells within your body, you can stop competing with others. You can simply relax into who you are meant to be.
So come spend a day with me and my team and let us show you the truth of your beauty.
WHERE My STORY BEGAN
Photography chose me.
For years I pursued higher education and careers in other fields. While I was completing my PhD, I had to give my camera to my husband to lock in his filing cabinet at his workplace so that I would actually finish my dissertation. But a week after completing my doctorate I found myself once again with a camera in my hand and my first paid commission.
I still fought it, though. I went on to become an academic, a researcher and an interpreter. I qualified as a yoga teacher and a personal trainer. And then the kids came along. And all the while my camera just kept looking at me from the corner, until one day I made the choice to pick it up for good.
So began my obsession with photography in general, and portraiture in particular.
I now specialise in portraiture for women. But I'm definitely not a girly girl. I grew up with three big brothers and I learned how to pack down a scrum. It's actually quite surprising that I love women's portraiture so much.
I've spent the last few decades creating photographic portraits for women — portraits that show women the beautiful spirit of the girl they once were — all the stuff that society so often tells us to play down... I create portraits that show my clients all that. Portraits that hopefully captivate not just others, but also the women themselves.
My METHOD
People tell me the best thing about having a shoot with me is that I make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. While I'm glad they feel that way, I think the real magic happens when they stop thinking about the camera altogether. That's what I’m after in every shoot: the real you. Not the performative you, not the you that you think is the “right” you, but you in all your perfect imperfection.
My STYLE
One of the nicest things you could tell me about my photography is that it’s not “twee”. In fact, there are certain common shots that I simply refuse to do. Although there is some effort that goes into helping people look and feel completely relaxed on camera, my aim is that the images we create look effortless. Like I’ve just captured you just being naturally you.
