Frocktober Shoots are awesome!
They’re an awesome experience for you, and they’re awesome for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, too: $200 from every booking is donated to the OCRF to help fund vital research into ovarian cancer, still the most lethal of all gynaecological cancers.
So book a Frocktober Session and have a “mock frock” designed just for you.
Then, on the day of your shoot, your mock frock will be made on you on the spot, right here in the studio, just by draping, pinning, and tucking fabric around you to create a fabulous gown, or a simple sundress, or something in between.
The dresses you see here on this page? Not dresses at all! They’re just pieces of fabric cleverly draped, giving the illusion of a finished gown.
On the day of your shoot, we will start in hair and makeup styling, then we’ll make your mock frock. Once we’ve photographed you in that, you get a full service shoot with multiple wardrobe changes, so we can create whatever other images you want or need: maybe casual jeans and jumper, or perhaps photos of you in a glamorous gown you never get to wear anymore, or maybe something dark and moody, or some refreshed personal branding images.
The choice is yours.

Have you heard of Frocktober?
Most people wear a different day for each day of the month of October (actually not as easy as you might think!).
For the past few years, I’ve done things a little differently: I make a dress for each Frocktober shoot. They’re not really dresses. They’re just some fabric cleverly draped and pinned around you to look like a ball gown, a chic evening dress, or a simple sundress.
These mock frocks are designed in consultation with you, and made just for you on the spot, right here in the studio. They exist only for your shoot, and then they get pulled apart, ready to be made into some other creation for someone else.
And $200 from every shoot booked is donated to the OCRF to support research into ovarian cancer.
Frocktober shoots are pretty special, but they are limited. They happen once a year.

Frocktober Sessions are $375 and include:
your booking fee
a preshoot consultation (usually over the phone or zoom, but can be in person) to design your mock frock and plan the rest of your wardrobe
hair and makeup styling on the day of your shoot
a full service shoot with multiple wardrobe changes (in addition to the mock frock)
$350 credit to spend on images from your shoot
NOTE: This is less than half what you would pay for the same service under my usual pricing. An absolute steal!

Yes, a few:
These shoots will be held at my usual studio space in Gordon, on Sydney’s north shore. Other locations may be possible with some discussion, and will incur an additional fee.
They will be held M-F, during normal business hours
There is no cash value for the image credit, and it cannot be used towards anything other than images from this year’s Frocktober shoot. It is not transferable to another shoot or to any other person.
You will be invited to view and purchase images from your shoot, but you are under no obligation to purchase anything if you don’t want to. There is no hard sell, and no pressure. Please note, however, the previous point: the image credit has no cash value and is not transferable. I’m happy to send you my full price list prior to booking. Just drop me a note and ask.

We will spend some time discussing a range of ideas for your mock frock prior to your session.

Yes, please do!
Once we’ve finished photographing you in the mock frock, you will get a full service photo shoot as normal, with several outfit changes.
We will discuss what you need to bring during your pre-shoot concept and design consultation.

Yes, you can!
If both of you want a mock frock, then you will need to book two Frocktober shoots, and we will run them on the same day. I’ve had mother and daughter shoots where we’ve done this, as well as ‘girls day out’ sessions.
If you want to share the shoot with your partner, say, or your kids maybe, and they’re not interested in having a mock frock made for them, please let me know when we’re planning your shoot, as we may need to allow some extra time.
There may be an additional fee for extra hair and makeup services.

Yes, it is.
I am an official Friend of Frocktober, and 2026 is the fifth year that I have offered Frocktober sessions.
$200 from every Frocktober shoot booked does directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation to help them fund vital research into ovarian cancer, specifically attempts to create an early detection test and better treatment options.

You will get $350 image credit to spend on images from your Frocktober session. My price list is set up so that the more you spend, the better the cost per image, so it’s a little difficult to say exactly how many images that will get you.
I’m happy to send you my brochure and full price list before you book in, and to answer any questions about my pricing that you might have after that.

No. Well, yes. Well kind of.
You will be out of pocket $375 for the session.
$200 of that goes straight to the OCRF.
The remaining $175 partially covers the cost of my makeup artist. (The rest of her fee comes out of my own pocket.)
After that you do not have to spend a cent, if you don’t want to.
I will of course show you a range of images from your shoot, and I hope that you love them so much that you want to buy them all!
But there is no obligation for you to purchase any images if you don’t want to. No pressure, and no hard sell. Not ever.
If you do decide to purchase some images, you will receive $350 discount on whatever you decide to purchase.

Yes. I offer payment plans at no additional cost to you. I’m happy to discuss this with you before you book your shoot.

Yes, we can! If you need to see your images on the same day, we will need to shoot in the morning. After your session, I will send you off somewhere close by for lunch so that I can have an hour or so to quickly prepare your files for you to see.
OR we can do a viewing via zoom a week or so after your shoot.

Yes, of course!
It’s better to come to the studio to see your images if you can, but we can do a Zoom viewing session if you need to.
All our planning sessions prior to your shoot can be done in person, by phone, or via Zoom.

Yes. You will be assigned usage rights for personal (non-commercial use) for any images you purchase from your shoot. You can still use these images to promote yourself/your business, even under personal usage rights.
Copyright of all images remains mine.
We will go through all of this during our time together.

That’s fine. You don’t have to like them!
If you don’t like them, you just don’t purchase any.
But be warned: most people love so many of the photos, they have a hard time choosing.
